Melo LLP is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager or Manager to join our reputable public accounting office in Windsor, Ontario. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and a proven track record of managing client relationships within the public accounting sector.

  • Lead and oversee a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to clients.
  • Manage client engagements from inception to completion, including planning, execution, and review of audit, tax, and advisory services.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to address their financial needs and objectives.
  • Stay up on regulatory changes, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance with accounting standards and provide value-added insights to clients.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at driving business growth and enhancing organizational effectiveness.
  • Drive operational excellence and process improvements within the firm to streamline workflows, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall productivity.
  • Participate in business development activities, including networking events, client presentations, and proposal preparation, to expand the firm's client base and revenue opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning within the team, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing among staff members.

  • CPA designation is a mandatory requirement for this role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on audit, tax, and advisory services.
  • This role is required to be in-person in order to mentor the staff.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve excellence.
  • Strong technical expertise in accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and develop innovative solutions to drive business growth.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver results under pressure.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Caseware, Taxprep, and QuickBooks preferred.
