We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager (Partner track) to join one of our clients in an accounting firm in Troy, Michigan. As a pivotal member of the team, the Senior Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various aspects of the accounting operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute their expertise and leadership skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to accounting teams, including managers, supervisors, and staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for key client accounts, maintaining strong relationships and addressing client needs effectively.
  • Oversee financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans and initiatives to drive firm growth and profitability.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on professional development and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within accounting operations, implementing best practices as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with partners, colleagues, and other departments to achieve firm objectives and deliver exceptional client service.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize outstanding contributions from team members.
  • Professional Development - Stay current with industry trends, developments, and best practices through ongoing professional development and training initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is required.
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in public accounting, with a focus on audit, tax, or advisory services. Desire to be on Partner track.
  • Proven track record of success in a managerial or leadership role within an accounting firm.
  • Strong technical proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and firm leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
