Commercial Construction Site Supervisor
Working for one of our clients working within Ontario Canada.
Melo LLP is currently searching for an experienced Site Supervisor for Commercial Construction with a focus on grocery store experience within in Ontario, Canada. The successful applicant would work for one of our clients across Ontario.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for overseeing and managing the construction site, ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role involves extensive coordination, leadership, and knowledge of the specific requirements related to grocery store construction.
- Project Oversight: Manage and supervise all on-site activities, ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with plans, specifications, and local building codes.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers and subcontractors adhere to safety regulations. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain a detailed construction schedule, coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
- Quality Control: Monitor and maintain construction quality standards, addressing any issues or defects promptly. Conduct quality inspections and manage punch lists.
- Budget Management: Keep track of project expenditures and ensure adherence to the budget. Report cost overruns and work with project managers to find cost-effective solutions.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Oversee and coordinate subcontractors, including trade contractors, suppliers, and vendors, to ensure seamless project progress.
- Material Procurement: Ensure timely and efficient procurement of construction materials and equipment while controlling costs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with the client, addressing their concerns, providing progress updates, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues promptly, making decisions that align with project objectives.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the on-site construction team, including foremen and laborers, to meet project goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Extensive travel throughout Ontario
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or Construction Manager with a focus on commercial construction, particularly grocery store projects.
- Knowledge of Ontario's construction regulations, codes, and permitting processes.
- Strong understanding of grocery store construction standards and requirements.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- First Aid and Safety certifications are desirable.
