MIG Welder
Working for one of our clients situated within the Windsor area.
Melo LLP is presently seeking skilled MIG Welders on behalf of our client situated in Windsor, Ontario. The desired candidate will be accountable for welding metal components using MIG welding equipment. The individual who meets the requirements will demonstrate proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, utilizing hand and power tools to prep metal surfaces, and executing the welding process in a safe and productive manner.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine welding requirements
- Use hand and power tools to prepare metal surfaces for welding
- Set up and operate MIG welding equipment
- Weld metal parts together using the MIG process
- Inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
- Troubleshoot and repair welding equipment as needed
- Follow safety procedures and regulations at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a welding program or equivalent experience
- Must be able to provide own weld helmet
- Knowledge of welding principles, techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Proficiency in using hand power tools
- Experience operating MIG welding equipment
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
